What to do this Summer

I recently received a note from my child's school listing some useful summer resources. I will post them here so I can easily refer to them later:

The New York City Public Library encourages students to sign up for the 2009 Summer Reading Program which is designed to motivate young people to be involved with books and creativity during the months they are away from school. Registration takes place at all branches and on-line from June 4 - August 31 at www.summerreading.org.

The Alliance for the Arts website (www.NYCkidsARTS.org) lists an amazing number of activities and events for kids and their families, and most are free or low-cost/discounted programs. 758 different organizations are included. You can also sign up for an email newsletter containing all the latest happenings.

Go City Kids (http://gocitykids.parentsconnect.com/calendar/new-york-ny-usa/2009/04/27) also lists a fantastic array of choices that you can find by searching by event type or by using their calendar. They also have a newsletter.
