Low Calorie Snacks

I am always on the look-out for snacks that will please the kids (and me!!) without adding too many calories, too much salt, or too much of all the other bad stuff to our diet.  I'm a big believer in fruit (this summer I've done lots of melon chunks, which have been a hit), nuts (especially almonds and pecans), and yogurt.  The kids also like energy bars, like Zone and Clif bars.  But sometimes we all have a yearning for something a little more decadent -- that still won't sabotage our attempts to eat well.  Here are some ideas from Shape magazine:
  • Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownies
  • Weight Watchers Strawberry Fruit Bars
  • Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bars
  • Blue Diamond Butter Toffee Roasted Almonds (also available in dark chocolate)
  • Snackwell's Fudge Drizzled Caramel Popcorn
